Less Famous British Inventions By Modern Inventors
Yes, you heard it right!
We’re going to talk about less famous British inventions by modern inventors.
We all know how much British inventions have contributed to changing the world. The Britisher's claim to fame is Neils Bohr (Chemist), Charles Darwin (Biologist), Michael Faraday (Physicist), and many more.
These people and many more like them have not only moved their own country forward but made a significant impact all around the world.
However, through this article, we will discuss some of the recent inventions of British origin.
The so-called less famous British inventions, have not made any revolutionary chae but are innovative and offer a solution to genuine problems.
But before starting, being from a science background, inventions and research are something that makes me very curious. So I wanted to know do you all also feel the same?
Like, do you all think of questions like how to invent or how to invent a product? And if an invention is made, how to make an invention, how to make an invention idea a reality, how to patent an idea, and how to bring your idea to the market?
If yes, then you are certainly in the right place.
Less Famous Invention #1- MicroMap
Jeffrey Woolf invented MicroMap, it is a device that inholds credit card-sized maps that can be fully viewed on a movable magnifier. Invention runs through his blood. His grandfather invented Jif lemon container, and his mother invented calendar and accounting systems.
The idea of MicroMap came out to overcome the inconvenience caused due to paper maps.
If you have also faced this kind of difficulty during skiing, you will surely understand the problem.
For this invention, Jeffrey was awarded an Order of the British Empire in the year 2000.
Less Famous Invention #2- Portable Water Filteration Jug
The person behind the portable water filtration jug is Michael Pritchard. He literally came up with this mind-blowing and life-saving idea for invention while watching tsunami devastation on television.
When he saw people dying because of the scarcity of clean water, he became agitated and tried to solve this problem.
When the tsunami Katrina came, he gave the solution that the world needed- the world’s first portable nanofiltration technology. It is a water jug with an in-built filtration device specially designed to help people during disasters.
Less Famous Invention #3- Trikinetic Wheelchair
This excellent idea of invention came out of the brains of Mike Briton. He is a formula 1 racer. When he saw an old man in an old-fashioned wheelchair, he came up with the idea of a “trikinetic wheelchair” despite having no experience in this background.
However, it is also true that necessity is the mother of all inventions.
This trikinetic wheelchair includes only three wheels and is designed to offer stability and movability. It can be used on the road and off the road. It’s shock absorbent and has an in-built umbrella that is strong and comfortable.
Less Famous Invention #4- Spill-free Dog Bowl
Natalie Ellis is a pet lover and she was almost arrested for driving dangerously while trying to help her dog drink water. She faced these types of problems very often. That is when she decided to do something.
Natalie has no knowledge of the pet industry, so she studied this market and learn about its potential. Natalie’s invention is the best example of “trial and error”. She built the invention prototype in her kitchen while cooking food.
The product was first introduced in a new product trade show for which she earned lots of awards. Soo the product was the fastest-selling dog bowl on Amazon.com. Even President Barack Obama owns one.
Less Famous Invention #5- Self-heating Baby Bottles
Jim Shaikh came up with an identified idea while going through his daily experience-feeding her little baby at night. It took him a year to come up with the idea of the invention and six more months to develop the product.
In the end, the self-heating baby bottles were a complete success. Jim made four prototypes for the product.
